We built Plattipus to close the gap between what the best stories demand and what the available tools allow. When the industry doesn't have the answer, we build it. When we build it, we publish it — freely, completely, without reservation.
The name is the proof of concept. Plattipus — not platypus — is a deliberate mutation. A new word for a new kind of studio. One that refuses the categories the industry insists are fixed.
THE CRAFT
Some shots exist at the edge of what is physically possible. We have lived there long enough to know which edges to push — and what it costs when you get it wrong.
Visual effects and animation built on decades of on-set supervision, real pipelines, and the kind of frame-by-frame discipline that only comes from delivering to the world's biggest screens. The fundamentals don't change when the tools do. The eye that knows when something is wrong cannot be automated. We bring that eye to every frame.

When we hit a wall the industry hasn't solved, we don't wait for someone else to solve it.
Our lab runs inside live production — not beside it. Every research question starts with a real problem from a real pipeline. The methods we develop, the tools we build, the findings we reach: all of it published openly, without reservation. The field advances when serious practitioners share serious work. This is our contribution to the discipline.
